List of Councillors
CHAIRMAN
Sir Richard Peek |
Exmoor National Park Representative
Chairman Peek -
I have been a farmer and property developer locally before moving into the parish thirteen years ago. I have been a Parish Councillor for ten or so years and the Chairman for the last four years. My other interests are with one of the local hunts, the Royal British Legion and in voluntary local politics. Away from here, I am a keen sailor going out from Instow.

VICE-CHAIRMAN
Mr Jeremy Dunn |
Vice Chairman Dunn -
I grew up on a farm near Barnstaple (small dairy herd and 150 Clun Forest sheep). I served in the Royal Engineers for 12 years and have worked at an engineering firm in Barnstaple for 40. I moved to North Molton in 1991 with my wife Pip. She persuaded me to try bellringing, under the expert Mr Sid Rashley. It is important to be active in your community, and I have served as Councillor, Chairman and Vice Chairman. I am Vice Chairman of South Molton Branch Royal British Legion. I enjoy country pursuits, my fields and the wildlife found there.

Mrs Claire Barron |
1 Locks Cottage, The Square, North Molton, Devon EX36 3HP.
Tel: 07789 584123 shipwreckedmermaid@gmail.com
Heasley Mill Village Hall Representative, and Footpath Warden
Cllr Barron -
I have lived in North Devon for over 15 years, and spent my working life as a nurse. I now enjoy local part-time work in hospitality. I have always lived in rural settings and love being outside, and am interested in the preservation of our rural spaces and communities. I like gardening, cooking, camping, swimming and most of all walking my little dog. I am the Footpath Warden for North Molton, and enjoy helping improve the Parish.
|
Mrs Elizabeth Bulled |
Cllr Bulled -
Born on Exmoor, I graduated from Seale Hayne, then worked as a scientific officer at Liscombe EHF researching and advising farmers on ways of managing upland farms. In 1992, I moved to North Molton with my husband, where his family have farmed for 200 years, helping him farm 800+ acres and with his export businesses until retirement. I have been on the Parish Council for 22 years, including as Chairman prior to being District Councillor for North Molton Ward. I see my role as continuing to represent our rural community’s wishes and ambitions in an increasingly urban-focused society.
|
Mrs Mandy English |
Sports and Social Club Representative
Cllr English -
I have lived in North Molton for 8 years and feel very settled here. I was a single parent to two girls for many years and worked hard to support my family. I worked for the NHS and, prior to retirement, for a mental health charity. I remarried 9 years ago, and we moved to North Molton after falling in love with North Devon. Being a Parish Councillor enables me to know and understand the needs of a rural community and I am keen to develop the relationship between the Parish Council and parishioners to represent the needs of the community.
|
Mr Bill Geen |
Snow Warden, and Feoffees Representative
Cllr Geen -
I am a farmer in a family partnership mainly producing sheep which shed their wool and are efficient in other ways, leading to a low environmental impact. We are part of a breeding company which I Chair. I am currently Chairman of the North Molton Feeofees, a Charity that holds and manages property for the benefit of All Saints Church. We are working with the Community Shop group to establish a shop in the Old School. I am Parish Council representative to the Exmoor National Park. I enjoy Amateur Dramatics, reading and watching Exeter Chiefs and South Molton playing Rugby.
|
Mr Hugh Jennings |
Book Box Manager
Cllr Jennings -
I moved to the village in 2017 from Bedfordshire, after working for the railways for nearly 40 years. I have been a Parish Councillor for just over three years, wanting to be involved in making a sustainable and thriving community. For my sins I am also treasurer for the Village Shop Committee, working to reopening the village shop. I am married to Helen, you will often see one or both of us walking Barney, our rescue dog around the village. My hobbies include travelling, cruise ships (yes, a bit weird) and photography.
|
Mrs Anne Johnson |
View Cottage, East Street, North Molton, Devon EX36 3JF.
Tel: 01598 740465 annechristinajohnson@gmail.com
Laurels Playground Team Leader
Cllr Johnson -
North Molton has been my home for 11 years. I grew up in rural East Devon and studied Art and Textile Design in Leeds. Recently I’ve worked as a freelance artist, in hospitality at the Poltimore Inn and Bulled’s, volunteered at the Luncheon Club, and spent time renovating our cottage. I’m passionate about caring for the elderly, historic building conservation, and making a difference for our diverse community. I lead the Laurels Playground Team and am on the team dedicated to opening a Community Shop. In my free time I love beachcombing, swimming and cats.
|
Mrs Innes Milne |
Highways Team Leader
Cllr Milne -
I have lived in North Molton for 34 years and previously worked for the NHS, South West Water and as an Organisation Development consultant. I am now retired but still chair a national dance/exercise charity, as well as looking after 4 horses and ponies, a few sheep and our dog with my husband. I also have seven grandchildren which keep me busy. The community of North Molton is very important to me and it is a privilege to live here and be part of it.
|
Mr Ron Procter |
Victory Hall Representative
Cllr Proctor -
Having spent my life running my own motor repair garage in London, the thought of retiring to Devon was tempting. We moved to North Molton in 1986, bought a beautiful Victorian house which we made into a guest house, then in 96 we bought a thatched cottage which needed restoring, completed various building repairs for friends/neighbours, also restoring furniture, finally at the age of 77 building my own home here. In my spare time I am a drummer for two choirs and two entertainment groups. I have been a councillor for over 22 years, and enjoy supporting the village.
|
Mr Andy Radley |
Cllr Radley -
I am a retired vet returning home to Exmoor in 2020, having worked in a mixed vet practice in Leicestershire for 30 years. I was brought up on a family farm near Brayford although research into the family history suggests the Radleys were living in North Molton in 1636. Having been visiting the village for 20 years and now living here my wife, I care deeply for it and see my role as a Parish Councillor being a way of supporting and developing a positive future while maintaining its sense of friendly community in a wonderful rural setting.
